Experience
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in a variety of research, policy and practice roles relating to children, family and community wellbeing.
Current roles
- Integrative psychotherapist (MBACP, UKCP, BAATN) – I mainly work on a one-to-one open-ended basis in private practice but also enjoy facilitating some short-term groups.
- Psychotherapist and mentor at Spiral Holistic Therapy Centre – I provide low-cost therapy and co-facilite a mentoring scheme for therapists developing their practice. I also take care of Spiral’s book collection!
- Course Tutor at the Feminist Therapy Network – I curated and teach the Black feminism, womanism: therapeutic perspectives course.
- Teaching Associate at the Minster Centre – Contemporary Theories module (MA in Integrative Psychotherapy Course); and I assist on the Family and Belonging Module (Diploma)
- Freelance researcher – recent collaborations include with Tapestry, Wellbeing for All, YMCA, She Made it and the Anna Freud Centre. My research interests include: practitioner wellbeing; the early years; critical mixed-raceness/Mixed-Race Thought; Black feminisms and intersectionality; self and collective care; participatory and narrative methodologies and oral histories.
